Work History

Richard Wilson started working in the hedge fund industry in 2001 while completing leading indicator research for a currency and commodity hedge fund based in Europe. He then gained four years of financial risk consulting experience before joining a Boston-based marketing firm raising capital for long only and alternative investment managers. While there, Richard's ability to raise capital increased from $500K/quarter to $2M per week. During this time he also gained expertise in marketing to HNW wealth management firms and family offices.

Richard attributes much of his success to the writing discipline and positive attitude of Jeffrey Gitomer. Starting in 2007, Richard he started a personal blog and soon realized that his posts on hedge fund related topics received the most traffic from readers. He than began writing daily on hedge funds and today, he runs 8 distinct alternative investment and HNW family office related blogs which together receive over 400,000 pageviews each month. Through his online network of hedge fund and family office professionals Richard was able to establish several networking groups such as the Hedge Fund Group (HFG), Family Offices Group, Third Party Marketing Group and Prime Brokerage Association (PBA).
